After a year of being quarantined indoors people are ready to get out the door and spend some quality time together. Below we list some of the activities in the area that are going on during the 4th of July weekend in 2021.
Because the 4th of July falls on a Sunday this year, most of these events are occurring on Saturday July 3rd.
Melaleuca Freedom Celebration
Back for another year, Melaleuca is coming through with the area’s largest fireworks show. However, if you just know the freedom celebration for its fireworks then you haven’t experienced half of what this special event offers.
Starting at 9am is the Idaho Falls parade, but immediately after the celebrations move over to the River Fest bringing together local food vendors and live performances on a lovely grass field right on the banks of the Snake River in Idaho Falls. If you haven’t been to the event for a lot of years because you’re afraid of the crowds, this location handles the traffic much better.
Ammon 1000 Lights Fireworks Show
On the 4th of July itself (Sunday night), Ammon is having their very own fireworks show called the Thousand Lights Firework Celebration. Looking forward to seeing this new show in action!
Jefferson County Spirit of Freedom Celebration
Located at the Jefferson County Lake (Rigby Lake) there will be a growing local favorite fireworks show again this year. They will be following and enforcing some social distance guidelines so plan accordingly. More information can be viewed on East Idaho News.
Rexburg Liberty Celebration
Last year in response to the social distancing restrictions a special fireworks show was put together to give people a show all around town, while they were able to stay in their homes. That show is back again for another round. They set up in 3 locations around the city allowing many more people to see the show from the comfort of their home, including Campus Courtyard apartments. This is happening July 3rd at 10pm.
